Classroom Rules:
1. Be on time.
Tardies will be addressed in the following manner:
1. Warning/ Student conference
2. Phone call to parent/guardian
3. Detention/Writing assignment
4. Office Referral
2. Be prepared.
In order to do well in this class, you must be prepared. This means that you must come to class on time, ready to learn, and with the necessary supplies. Failure to do so will ultimately affect your grade.
3. Be respectful. (No cursing or negativity)
You must treat others as you want to be treated. No cursing, disrespectful, and defiant behavior will be tolerated in this classroom as it negatively impacts the learning environment. For this reason, any student who exhibits these behaviors, as determined by the teacher, will be disciplined in accordance with the PHS code of conduct.
4. Be attentive.
It is imperative that you attend to the information that is being presented in class. Failure to be engaged in the learning process will negatively impact your grade.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY :(PLEASE READ THIS PART VERY CAREFULLY!!!!)
Electronic devices will be allowed in my classroom FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY! Students may access their materials/work online, through the Schoology platform. However, if a student is caught off-task on another social media platform such as SnapChat, Tik-Tok, etc., their privilege of using an electronic device will be suspended for that day, and an additional writing assignment will be assigned to the student. In addition to the writing assignment, the student will also be tasked to complete the online classwork as homework. If this behavior becomes habitual, then all procedures concerning cell phone usage will be in full effect (see PHS Handbook for
reference), and ALL disciplinary measures will be taken according to PHS disciplinary procedures.
5. NO food, drink, and gum.
You should not have any food, drink, or gum in the classroom. These are not allowed because it is a disruption to the learning environment. It also creates unsanitary conditions.
6. NO personal grooming.
Personal grooming – brushing hair, putting on makeup, etc. – is a distraction and disrupts the learning environment.
